Outplacement Aim
We assume that HR professionals are experts at writing CVs; however, they have the same struggles as we all do. Whether it's how to include all your relevant experience while complying with the unwritten rule of a 2 page CV or how to share your strengths without it sounding like you're showing off.
They'd asked their HR Director for help and she asked us to work with the team on a one to one basis to rewrite the their CVs.
Our Approach
We contacted the team members individually and set up initial calls to find out a bit more about them, their experience and what type of role they would be looking for. We sent a brief survey asking them how they felt about their current CV and where they most wanted help.
The team provided a copy of their current CV and we got to work creating a first draft. This was provided with feedback on why we suggested changes and any additional information that might be useful. We feel it's important that our clients not only get a great CV, we also want them to learn from our experience, so they can tailor their CV to every role they apply for.
We held a 60 minute call with each employee where they got to ask their burning CV and job search questions. During the call we worked through the draft to ensure that it contained all their great accomplishments and sounded like them.
A final draft was created and they also received handouts containing all the tips we shared that they could refer back to.
Benefits
Within 6 weeks all 9 employees had found alternative roles and pay increases, and some even gained promotion.
All the team gave feedback about how much more confident they felt in their CV content and their skills.
One team member even said it was game changing for them.
