Snow Limits Consulting - The Full Story
I'm Claire, Founder and Project Director of Snow Limits Consulting.
After nearly two decades working in HR, learning and development and wrestling with large-scale change projects for global supply chain companies (think restructures, service redesign, TUPE transfers and systems implementations), I decided it was time to do project management a little differently.
Snow Limits Consulting was created from a simple idea of making project and change management more flexible and friendly. Less about hiring a project manager for 12 months, and more about hiring the right support, at the right time in your project.
It's about doing what is needed regardless of whether that activity fits under change, project, training or communications and doing what is needed to help you deliver your project successfully.
I'd worked with contractors whose sole purpose was to make the project last as long as possible and maximise their profits. My aim is to be more like the Mary Poppins of change and project management, helping you and your team to successfully manage your change project and moving on at the right point, where you can manage without me.
What Do We Actually Do?
We help businesses design, plan and implement projects that actually work.
According to the Association for Project Management over 80% of projects fail as a result of gaps in good practice, we are committed to making sure yours isn't one of them!
Working with you to create calm from the chaos of change, whether it's supporting you to create the business case, managing a complex restructure, helping you implement a new HR and Payroll system, or just making sure you have a project plan rather than a spreadsheet mess - we're here to help.
We tailor our support to the expertise you need. It can be as simple as helping you scope and kick off your project successfully all the way through to training your team. It could even be fully managing the project for you.
We understand how strategic project decisions are made. We help you navigate board level sign off on your project by creating business cases that demonstrate the commercial value.

Our Approach
Our service isn't about replacing your HR team, it's about providing you with a solution that uses your team's expertise and plugs the gaps either in knowledge or dedicated time to drive your project forward.
We pride ourselves in offering a strategic partnership approach, collaborating with existing teams to ensure their business knowledge isn't missing from any proposals or plans, which makes it more successful.
The standard approach to large scale project management is to hire a project manager for the full life of your project. This fails to recognise that although you need a full time project manager at the start of your project, as the team gains momentum, you're paying for expertise you don't need.
We work with trusted associates to help us flex the level of support needed, which isn't always feasible if you have a full time project manager or consultant on a day rate.
We offer options that include a standard project plan to get you up and running quickly, a one off intervention like facilitating a project kick off, lessons learnt or process mapping sessions or coaching your team so they can deliver your project.
If you need more intensive support we offer a “Get Project Ready” and a "Get Change Ready" 12 week programme right through to full project and change management support that tapers off towards the end of your project. Take a look at our services page for more details.
We know that it can be a challenge to get extra resources signed off, so we work with you to identify a tailored solution that helps you create a compelling case.
Who We Help
With over 20 years experience designing training solutions and managing projects in supply chain across the UK, I've worked in the retail, consumer, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
More recently I have been working within the care and retirement living sector providing project management support to their HR team on restructuring activity and have also supported their catering management team to redesign their service and structure.
At the other end of the scale, I have helped small businesses review and redesign processes to make them more efficient and create 3 - 6 month plans so they don't get stuck in business as usual and forget the strategic development.
Having started my career in HR, it means it’s not just project management, you also get a trusted partner and sounding board to HR teams too. Someone to help them make strategic decisions and reduce the need for costly legal advice.
With a unique blend of data, logic and people skills I bring a different perspective that uses business information along with what is happening in practice to create processes and manage change successfully.
If this sounds like the flexible change and project management support you need then get in touch to build a custom plan!
